CEO statement

We understand the complexity, challenges and opportunities associated with healthcare, we listen carefully to what we hear from governments, healthcare professionals, patients, colleagues, family, friends and neighbours around the world. And most importantly, in line with our company values, we learn from what we hear and we take action accordingly.

We are acutely aware that, as a result of ageing populations and the spread of chronic disease, demands on healthcare services are ever-increasing, and that this is pitted against budget constraints, access and reimbursement issues, and waiting lists. At Mölnlycke Health Care, we work with great people and innovative partners. We count many nurses and doctors among our employees, so we understand their needs – from the tray of instruments in the operating theatre, to solutions for easing the pain of a pressure ulcer or nursing someone suffering from severe burns.

This understanding allows us to provide many innovative solutions that make a positive impact, not only on care but on quality of life.

For instance, our wound dressings with Safetac®, a unique adhesive technology that does not stick to wounds, reduce pain during dressing changes for millions of patients a year. And BARRIER® EasyWarm®, our active self-warming blanket, is a simple yet effective solution for reducing risks associated with hypothermia in surgery patients. With the tight budget constraints in mind, we continue to improve our ProcedurePak® trays, which drastically reduce the time needed to prepare for surgery. This simple idea allows more patients to be treated, has the added benefit of real time and cost savings, and leaves surgical teams to focus on what they do best.

Efficiency is not only important in keeping healthcare sustainable, but also in allowing us to continue to grow, create jobs and make an impact on people’s lives. That’s what motivates us to keep innovating our processes, our technologies and our products. We had an impact on people’s lives in 87 countries last year. Continued innovation will make it possible for us to reach the remaining 109 countries. That’s what Mölnlycke Health Care is all about – making a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
